Pool Academy, Cornwall

Located in Redruth, Cornwall, Pool Academy has helped thousands of secondary students unlock their potential using the power of education, and in recent years has undergone a transformation to significantly improve its facilities. This included replacing its failing flat roof.

Covering an extensive area – over 3,000m2 – and working with leading roofing materials suppliers, Garland, we stripped the school’s failing flat roof coverings, replacing with a new, high performing insulation and mineral felt system. With a particular focus on science education at the school, we also commissioned the addition of specialist ventilation systems to the labs and design workshops.

Working during the school holidays, to ensure minimal disruption to the school timetable, and to a tight deadline, student and staff are now fully protected from the elements for the long term.
