Working with leading national private dental practitioner, Smile Together, our latest project within the healthcare sector focused on the creation of a new dental practice in Saltash, Cornwall. Set to provide the local community with access to award-winning private dental services, the space was previously used for commercial purposes and required extensive refurbishment to meet clinical requirements.
Providing new electrical and mechanical services to support the specialist dental equipment, all new surgery spaces required new walls, constructed with lead lining; to protect patients and staff from x-ray radiation. TEC also made significant improvements to the building’s fire stopping and safety systems to ensure segregation from the residential area above.
Carrying out extensive decoration, as well as full fit-out – which included installing all new dental equipment and a new reception area – the building is now home to four new separate dental surgeries, alongside office spaces and consultancy rooms. Staff will also benefit from access to a new modern kitchen area and fully refurbished toilets – which included the creation of a disabled toilet within the lobby area.
The space has now been transformed into a modern, clinical dental practice, complete with high quality equipment and accessible facilities. As a long-term provider of construction services to the healthcare sector, we are proud to have undertaken work at many of the region’s hospitals, dentists, GP surgeries and well-being hubs, helping to ensure people continue to have access to these invaluable services without disruption.
